Can you believe it? Today is the last day of 2018.
They say time flies when you are having fun. I guess I've been having a lot of fun because this year just flew by. To be honest, it feels like the older I get time seems to just slip away from me.
I love this time of the year where I can reflect back on my goals and see all that I accomplished. For the goals I was not able to accomplish, I re-evaluate how important they were. Did I set too many goals? Is it something I no longer was interested in? Is there something I can do better in the next year?
As I say goodbye to 2018 and hello to 2019 I wanted to take some time recap and to share some important moments of my journey with you.
2018 started out great. I stepped out of my comfort zone and started a blog. Had no idea what I wanted my “niche” to be. I just knew I needed to start the blog before I changed my mind. That's the introvert in me. Whatever I was going to put out there I knew I wanted it to be motivating and I believe I have accomplished that.
After a couple of months of blogging, I finally figured out that I am a lifestyle blogger. I am the author of my life and I create content to inspire others while sharing my personal journey, interest and activities.
I also started a business, Johnson Professional Solutions. A service-based business providing administrative solutions, business coaching, contract management, online business management and paralegal services to law firms, attorneys and small businesses. I've always had a passion for the law and received my undergraduate degree in law. Figured I'd start a business doing what I love. I did just that and loving what I do every day. Working towards taking my business to the next level.
My goal has always been to step away from “Corporate America” and have my own business, be an entrepreneur. Pretty soon I'll be able to step away from my 9-5 and do my own thing. It’s a process and very time consuming but its all worth it.
I contemplated for years whether or not I wanted to go back to school. It was either going to be for my J.D. (Juris Doctor) or Master's Degree in law. Ultimately, I decided to go back for my master's in law. Just finished my first semester. It's been tough but I'm gonna keep on pushing. Looking forward to finishing in 2020 so I can continue to grow my business.
I learned so much about myself this year. I realized more than ever that I need to take care of self and how important self-care is for the mind, body, and soul. I started journaling more which has really helped me. Can’t wait to share more with you'll in 2019.
My favorite song of 2018 was Lil Duval ft. Snoop Dogg and Ball Greezy. The clean version, please.
"You got a lot to be smilin' for (smile) So what the __ you be wilin' for? (smile) I'm smiling, 'cause I always get my win on If you breathing you achieving I'm living my best life I ain't goin' back and forth with you"
We gon' start this thing off right...Jennifer in the house! The lyrics resonated with me. It was like my anthem for the year. I do have a lot to be smiling for. I am getting my win on and I'm not going to keep going back and forth with people who don't understand my worth and appreciate me. I'm living my best life!
Of course, I couldn't end the year without doing my vision board. This has become my yearly tradition (2018 Vision Board). It's like my visual roadmap and reminder of what I am working towards. This time I included my vision for what I'm working towards over the next couple of years. There are 12 months in a year and sometimes I feel like it's not enough time for me to get everything I want completed. Can you relate?
There will continue to be some bumps along the journey but I'm going to keep on pushing until I get to where I want to be.
I am so excited about what’s to come in 2019. Working on some new stuff that I will share soon. Claiming that everything I am working on will be a success.
What about you, are you excited for the new year too?
