I told myself that 2020 was going to be different. I was going to step out of my comfort zone a little more than I did last year. Not only did I submit my first novel to the editor but I also submitted some of my writings to literary magazines. I wasn't sure if I would get a response back or if they would run something that I wrote but they did.
I was so excited when I received an email from U-Rights Magazine that my submission would be featured in their next issue.
U-Rights Magazine is a literary magazine that was founded in 2019 and is based in South Nigeria. They provide a platform for writers to display their creative talents whether it's poetry, fiction/non-fiction, and spoken word. My submission is entitled "Save Yourself" and is a non-fiction piece. It was inspired by my life experiences. There was a time when I was overwhelmed with life and everything that came along with it. I found that I was quick to do for others but neglecting myself and my own needs. I worried about things I couldn't control and was tired of being tired. It was time for me to make some changes in my life and save myself.
Over the past year, I have stepped out on faith more than I ever have before. By doing so, God has shown me that even when I don't see things clearly don't doubt Him. So, if there is something you have been contemplating doing or unsure if things will work out in your favor, put your trust in God and keep on walking.
